  • Which point should I use?

    Hi there everyone!

I am trying to wood burn cursive names on wooden tree slices, hickory (3-3.5") and sourwood (3-4") to be exact. I have never wood burned before and I purchased the 'Creative Versa-Tool' kit to complete my project. There are so many points that come with the kit that I am having a hard time deciding which one is the best to use to pyrograph names. I am currently using the universal point, but I am having a hard time wood burning a continuous curved or straight line. I have been using it on the high heat setting.

    Any advice?

    Thank you for your time

Still a newbie myself but, I'd suggest getting a writing tip, walnut hollow calls it a flow point and a mini flow point. I had better luck with those and lettering. Hope this helped!
